Why hockey coaches should wear face shields

Last night during my peewee practice I was being a big tough defender during warm-ups.  The player did a backhand scoop of the puck and BAM.  Soon after, I noticed a big pool of blood in my hand and on the ice and the end result is 5 stitches and some pretty good bruising.  Needless to say, I will be buying a shield before my next practice.

Day after pictures for your enjoyment…

Enjoying the new Leander Skate Park

During the Christmas break we got a chance to play at the new Leander Skate Park. Krystal had a blast riding her scooter in a lap formation around the skate park. Krystal also spent some time in the bowl and learned how to balance herself on the walls. Ryan spent most of the time in the bowl and learned how to drop-in.

Of course I just had to help Ryan learn how to drop-in from my Clown Ramp days in Dallas but I have to admit the kid picked up dropping a lot quicker than I ever did.

Ryan’s Toilet Paper Holder

Today we went Xmas idea shopping to fill out our Xmas lists as a family and Ryan cracked a funny one.

He got real excited and said, “Hey mommy look at this great toilet paper holder.”

We all had a good laugh and let him know it was a wine rack :-)

Water in Face

This summer we had a chance to go visit Grandma and Grandpa in Okmulgee. During this visit Grandpa got his boat working so we took the boat out for a quick trip around the lake which the kids enjoyed. But the highlight of the event was Grandpa allowing the kids (me too) to ride in the back of the truck on the way back to the house.

The kids were singing and pretending to be dogs but the funniest part was when Krystal decided she wanted to try to spit water out of her mouth.

The video below best describes what she learned :-)

Fall musical highlights…

This week the kids school hosted the Fall musical.  Ryan and Krystal got speaking parts and they both had other parts as well.  This was the first time that Krystal was a narrator at her school and she did a fantastic job. On top of that she had a dancing part and truly enjoyed that part as well.  Oh, and a big shout out to mommy for getting these great shots!

Oh, Ryan was a speaker and a member of the choir and did a great job as well :-)
